Orange County Youth Event Raises $12,000!

The newly-launched SHINE Humanity Youth Movement held an “Urban Jam” on Saturday, May 14, to raise awareness around Pakistan flood victims.  In an interview, team leader and trailblazer Faizan Mehdi expressed concern that though the devastating floods took place almost a year ago, people in the disaster-affected areas continue to live with hardship each day and he wanted to do something to honor them.  Over 1,200 people attended and close to $12,000 was raised in one night! Thank you Faizan and everyone involved in planning, coordinating and implementing Urban Jam – it is a source of pride to see young people contributing their time and energy, to make the world a better place for all of us!
